First Friday - October 6th, 5-8pm

Artist Christine Holuj's exhibit will be open at the Upper East Gallery on Friday October 6 from 5-8pm. A reception will be held downstairs at Apothecary Arts/Simple Creations. The First Friday events are held from May through October and are sponsored by the Downtown Business Alliance and Main Street Momence.

Christine was born & raised in New Lenox, IL. By kindergarten she had decided she would be an artist. Embracing her quirks early on, she was often at odds with the "value" of women in pop culture. Little did she know it would be a major influence in her life and her art. Christine studied painting and art education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. After graduating she finally got to marry the love of her life. She taught art for four years before deciding to stay home to work with her greatest creation, her son. The 3 of them live on a wonderful old farm, collect junk, enjoy food, play outdoors and make art...
