First Friday - June 2nd

Although Downtown Momence has several annual events established, First Fridays are in a class of their own. First Friday events are occurring nationwide in small and mid-sized towns as well as major cities. Each is unique unto itself. This is a time for friends to gather, for all to celebrate local arts and culture, for networking, or to create your own "happy hour" by supporting local businesses and restaurants. Main Street Momence is the major sponsor of the First Friday events which are also supported by the new Downtown Business Alliance. The next event will take place on Friday, June 2 in downtown Momence. On Friday, June 2 from 5-8 p.m. you are invited to a reception at Apothecary Arts, 113 E. Washington. The exhibit is called "Art of Knowledge." The Upper East Gallery will feature photography by our own members of the community. Their art will be available for purchase. Momence also celebrates local architecture. The Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For a good look at our local history, and take part in local business atmosphere and enjoy shopping, tremendous tasting food and our friendly people. For more information about the Downtown Business Alliance or First Fridays, please call Rick at 815-353-5776 or visit Apothecary Arts & the Upper East Gallery at 113 E. Washington Street. Refreshments will be served.
