Main Street Momence relies on a professional staff to ensure that the program best serves downtown business investors and community stakeholders, while meeting the Board of Directors' ambitious annual program goals and overseeing committees' action plan implementation.

Janine Loftus

Janine Gubbins Loftus serves as Main Street Momence Executive Director. A 20 year resident of Momence, Janine is a former Je Neir Elementary School teacher with a Master's in Education in Teaching and Leadership. She has 3 children, and her hobbies include: birdwatching, hiking, driving pony carts, dancing and karaoke. Her favorite Main Street projects are the Christmas Gathering and the Facade Grant Program. Janine spearheaded our downtown revitalization program in 2001, which would subsequently earn a Main Street designation. Her favorite quotes: "People are about as happy as they make their minds up to be" -Abraham Lincoln and "As long as you live, keep learning how to live" -Seneca

Washington Street Downtown once again came alive with antique and unique "Cool Cars under the Stars" throughout the summer. The public came out to browse, listen to the music, eat some great food, and take a chance on the split the pot drawings held at each event.

Christmas Gathering

This annual Holiday event features the downtown brimming with Holiday Cheer - with special guest Santa and his reindeer, camel rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, craft shows, and lots more activities for young and old alike. Beautifully decorated store windows in the theme "Christmas Blessings" and the community Christmas Tree warmly welcome visitors to this Momence Holiday Tradition.

Join us in Historic Downtown Momence from noon-4pm for a great, family-friendly day.
