Christmas Gathering

On the first Saturday of December each year, Downtown Momence is transformed into a Christmas wonderland, with a day-long festival featuring children's activities, holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides, and much more! Lighted storefront windows with the 2019 theme "Home for the Holidays", capture the magic of the season. This year, a strolling snowman, reindeer, and gingerbread man will be available for holiday photos. The celebration of the Community Tree Lighting ceremony is a fitting conclusion to the Christmas Gathering, and this year it will take place in the Clock Tower Park at the northwest corner of Dixie Hwy. and River Street.

The 19th Annual Christmas Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 1-5pm

We have made some changes to the event this year. The Visitor's Center and Warming House will be at the Momence Youth Center at 116 E. Washington from 1-5pm, where you can come in from the cold and enjoy some hot cocoa and cookies. Tickets for the Santa photos, Facepainting, Horse and Carriage ride, and Pony ride are available here for $1 each. These activities will require tickets in order to participate. The Scavenger Hunt will not be held this year.

This year's festive family-friendly atmosphere will be offering the following activities:
